Neuquén.- On Tuesday, a team of national officers from the Programme of Studies in the Energy Sector of the Argentine Republic (PESE) and professionals in charge of preparing the studies and projects of hydroelectric exploiation of Neuquén River Middle Basin, arrived at the capital city of the province to carry out a reconnaissance visit to the locations of Cerro Rayoso and La Invernada.
The next day, the delegation moved to the place where the other exploitation under study –Cerro Rayoso- is projected, which is located 20 kilometers downstream from the Balsa Huitrín, also on the Neuquén River. There, a dam site survey was carried out with a photographic record, the location axis and the topographic characteristics were analyzed, and the drilling execution for geotechnical studies was planned.
The delegation was composed of 13 technicians and engineers. On behalf of the PESE, the Technical Coordinator, Eng. Carlos Mascimo and the Environmental Specialist Eduardo Beaumont Roveda were present. On behalf of the UTE Consultora (Intertechne-Hissa-HCA-Grimaux), the Eng. Oscar Navarro, Eng. Carlos Rocca, Eng. Guillermo Gonzales Andia, Eng. Marcelo Andrés Gil de Oliveira, accompanied by the geologists Juan Malecki, and Pablo Yaciuk, Agronomist Daniel Muguerza and the Specialist in Geotechnics, Eng. Roberto Flores. Finally, the visit was guided by Emhidro’s board memebers, Mr. Elías Sapag (President), Mr. Ricardo Cazeneuve (Vice President) and Mr. Daniel Accattatis (Manager).
About the Projects
La Invernada and Cerro Rayoso projects have the purpose of generating hydroelectric power and create water reservoirs for human consumption and irrigation. In addition, they will allow the tourist-recreational development of the central and northern area of Neuquén Province.
These projects, which are carried out under the PESE program of the National Electric Energy Secretariat and are financed by CAF, are part of the Hydroelectric Plan of Neuquén Province carried out by the state-owned company Emhidro SEP.
